Team and models at the 2003
Midwest Beauty Show |
February,
2004 - Hair Cuttery
was all the buzz at last year’s
Chicago Midwest Beauty Show.
Stylists and industry representatives
flocked to the salon’s
stage to check out styles that
ranged from chic to avante guarde.
This year,
Hair Cuttery’s Artistic
Team is back, with five great
shows and a new makeup segment
designed to motivate, entertain
and arouse the creative spirit.
Inspired by the hit movie trilogy
The Matrix, the shows feature
40 models dressed to kill, with
hair that’s sleek in design
and vibrant in color, punctuated
by no-nonsense choreography
and club music.
But, says
Hair Cuttery’s International
Artistic Leader
Shannon King, the entire
repertoire has a larger message.
“The
characters in The Matrix move
from one world to another. We’ve
created three distinct worlds
in each of our shows. There’s
the Real World, with wearable
every day styles, The Matrix,
with cool, urban designs and
Zion, where fantasy is king.
Hairdressers strive to live
in all three, and we say, why
not?”
Some highlights
from the Hair Cuttery stage
this year will be the “Reloaded”
show, featuring fashionable
trend-driven looks, “Zion,”
showcasing fantasy styles, the
ever-popular men’s designs—this
year themed “The Agents”—and
“The Real World”,
a hands-on experience where
audience members can join Hair
Cuttery’s 22 performing
artists on stage to help create
the looks.
Working the
Midwest Beauty Show is something
that Hair Cuttery’s Artistic
Team looks forward to every
year, King says. “This
is our fourth year doing a stage
show at Midwest, and it gets
bigger and better every year.
It’s a great opportunity
to show the industry that Hair
Cuttery is committed to creative
freedom, and it’s motivating
for all of the performing artists,
too. They’re all great
stylists who happen to be natural-born
performers, too.”
