Hair
Cuttery Recognizes Top Performers
At National Event in Cancun,
Mexico
February,
2004 -
Put a hard-working hairdresser
in the sun for an afternoon
if you want to give her a little
rest and relaxation. Put 220
hard-working hairdressers on
the beaches of Cancun for three
days and you' ll have one great
party!
That'
s exactly what Hair
Cuttery did
this February, when the company
rewarded its top stylists and
field leaders with an all-expenses-paid
trip to its 4th Annual National
WOW Recognition Event. Each
attendee had earned a spot by
receiving top scores in the
company' s twice-yearly customer
service and leadership "
WOW" surveys.
The
event was a mixture of fun—poolside
soirees, bonfire beach parties
and dancing under the stars—inspiring
messages from Redken 5th Avenue
performing artist Roy
Peters
and motivational speaker
Vicki
Hitzgez,
and plenty of free time to experience
Cancun' s natural treasures.
And in the end, there was the
most anticipated event of all:
the awards ceremony, where Hair
Cuttery founder Dennis
Ratner presented
the company' s coveted "
WOW Awards" for those with
the highest scores in the company.
" These
associates work hard to build
relationships among their salon
teams and with their clients,"
said Ratner. " Our company
philosophy puts people first,
and we' re proud to recognize
those who put that philosophy
into practice."
Stylists from
the Lynnhaven Square salon in
Virginia Beach, VA received
the company' s highest customer
service award as voted by clients
of that salon. The team received
a score of 9.75.
Receiving
the company' s highest leadership
scores as voted by their salon
team members were:
- Boyana
Georgieva from the
One Wheeling Place salon in
Wheeling, IL and Tara
Tomlinson from the
Indiavista Shopping Center
salon in Port St. John, Florida.
The two tied for the top spot
in the assistant salon leader
category each with a perfect
score of 10;
- Alice
Vu from the West Falls
Church salon in West Falls
Church, VA and Wanda
Caraballo from the
Winter Park Palm salon in
Winter Park, FL. The two tied
for the top spot in the salon
leader category each with
a perfect score of 10.
With their
national awards, these recipients
are now members of Hair Cuttery'
s " WOW Club," reserved
only for those whose top scores
have earned them a trip to the
company' s national event in
Cancun. Ratner says that being
a member of this elite group
not only inspires non-members
to strive to be part of the
club, but it also instills a
sense of pride and ownership
in WOW Clubbers.
Twice every
year, the staff of each Hair
Cuttery salon in the
United States completes a leadership
survey. Stylists are asked to
rate their salon leaders based
upon his or her success in upholding
the company values in the salon.
The values are: self-confidence,
building relationships, teamwork,
quality of life and integrity.
At the same time, clients rate
individual salons based upon
customer service.
CEO and stylist
Ratner founded Hair Cuttery
in 1974. The value-priced salon
chain is the largest division
of Ratner
Companies, a family-owned
company with 800 Hair Cuttery
salons on the East Coast and
in the Midwest. Hair Cuttery
offers a full complement of
cutting, coloring and texturing
services with no appointment
necessary.
