| Hair, Makeup Experts Forcast Spring Trends
Transition to Spring with Light, Romantic Looks Customized Just for You
Vienna, VA, December 15, 2004 – Hair and makeup experts from ColorWorks and Hair Cuttery today announced their spring trends forecasts, predicting a return to romance and femininity with adaptable, versatile looks.
Tracy Guthrie, artistic leader for ColorWorks, indicates that color trends will be flexible and able to adapt to a client’s looks and personality. “Our new techniques will make the color work for the client no matter who she is. We’ll be able to pick her most fabulous feature and make it stand out,” says Guthrie. Guthrie also sees the following trends for the upcoming season:
- Extremes in hair color on either end of the spectrum, either very soft and feminine or strong and bold.
- Versatile techniques that can be molded to complement a client’s strongest feature. Instead of a client changing her image to fit a trend, the trends will be adaptable to the client.
- For the first time in many years, we’ll begin seeing extremes in length (short crops or long waves) tempered by softer color choices. For example, the more extreme the length, the softer the color will be.
- If you’re going to be a redhead this season, go for a more natural look. This is not the season to show off your flaming red tresses.
- Soft colors to consider for spring: honey, caramel, soft browns, strawberry blonde
- Bold colors that you will see in the new season: Charcoal, “Hershey Special Dark,” golden blonde with platinum bits.
Shannon King, international artistic leader for Hair Cuttery, indicates that romance is back. “The “Fairy Tales” look leads this spring’s hair fashions, with soft, dreamy and childlike colors and textures infused with adult sensibilities.” King makes the following observations about the upcoming spring trends:
- Longer tendrils will bring back a thicker texture to hair, and a return to movement in styles.
- Color that is “melted” and “blurred” away from the scalp. King also predicts color that moves in a “pinwheeled” or “flared” circle throughout the hair.
- Although hair will be long, its ends will not be shredded into fine points, but rather shift in airy, active waves.
Anastacia, makeup trainer for ColorWorks, also envisions spring makeup that will be soft and feminine. “Spring sees the return of color, and pinks will be especially hot,” comments Anastacia. Her makeup forecast includes:
- Full and lush lashes, emphasized with green, pink and nude shadows.
- Soft and glossy lips in pinks and nudes.
- Soft, pink blush.
- Dales’s spring “must” – a bronzer to transition from the paleness of fall and winter to the color-infused hues of spring.
