It was the beginning of a new era, and Dennis envisioned a unisex salon convenient for the whole family. Over dinner with then-wife and fellow Stylist Ann, Dennis sketched on a cocktail napkin a business plan that laid the groundwork for the first Hair Cuttery salon. SALON CIELO & SPA RELEASES NEW STYLE COLLECTION

Vienna, VA, July, 2007 – 'Ethereal Elegance' Captures Serene and Sophisticated Salon Image

Dreamy, fresh, elegant - Salon Cielo & Spa flawlessly captures its signature style with Ethereal Elegance, the newly released photo collection appearing in all 14 salons and spas. Simple and sophisticated styles are enhanced with shades of translucent blonde, vibrant red and glimmering brunette.

Under the direction of Irene Meikle and Salon Cielo Brand Leader Julia Gardner, the Salon Cielo Creative Team of Tam Nguyen, Ivy Rector, and Michelle Huntemann created the stunning styles. Anastacia Dales, a makeup artist with sister salon ColorWorks, ensured that the models' eyes, lips and skin were camera ready.

The collection's soft, cascading curls, unstructured upstyles, and textured layers seamlessly transition from day to night. Classic and elegant, simple and sophisticated - the expert Stylists at Salon Cielo created the timeless styles of Ethereal Elegance to inspire clients and share their artistic vision.


Model Natalie's natural blond hair was enhanced with full highlights and given depth with subtle lowlights.

For this look, her naturally straight hair was set on large rollers for fullness except a 1" wide section wrapping along the back hairline from ear to ear. To create the texture in this section, the hair was sprayed with Cibu Pho Finish Workable Finishing Spray and wrapped around large pins, then pressed with a flat iron to accelerate the set and left to cool. After releasing the rollers from the top section, the hair was backcombed and hair supports were added to create the fullness in the roll. The back section was released and dressed into place.

Cibu Tsu Shine Polishing Gloss was added to the bottom section for shine and the style was set with Cibu Pho Finish Workable Finishing Spray.


Vanessa's hair was cut into long, square layers with texturized ends. Her dark chocolate hair was treated with warm toffee highlights

Her hair was prepped with Cibu Mouse Lee Foaming Volumizer and blown straight. To create this romantic updo, 1" sections were alternately curled with 1" and 1.5" curing irons, then clipped into place until cool. The curls were then arranged and secured to create the shape, and sprayed with Cibu Pho Finish Working Spray for hold.


Tia's hair was cut into a modern, fresh version of the graduated bob using both traditional and texturizing shears. This sophisticated style was accented with chunky red highlights.

Cibu Oso Shimmer Smoothing Solution was added to Tia's hair before blowdrying to smooth and add shine. Cibu Sashimi Thermal Shine Spray added additional shine and polish on dry hair.


Rhiannon's hair was shaped into a beautifully tailored pixie cut, perfectly suited to her features. Her color was brightened with an all-over shimmering copper-red.

To style, Cibu Wok This Way Sculpting Sauce was added to damp hair to define the look with touchable hold.
