Ratner Companies started with one salon and two Stylists back in 1974. Dennis Ratner was an up-and-coming hairdresser working in his father's Louis salon in Washington, D.C. It was the beginning of a new era, and Dennis envisioned a unisex salon convenient for the whole family. Over dinner with then-wife and fellow Stylist Ann, Dennis sketched on a cocktail napkin a business plan that laid the groundwork for the first Hair Cuttery salon. Vienna, VA, December 8, 2004 – All ColorWorks salons in the Washington, DC area are offering holiday shoppers the perfect little hostess gift, or a bright addition to a special someone's holiday stocking. Through December 31, ColorWorks will be selling wine charms in two styles and the net proceeds will benefit local charity Suited for Change.

The wine charms attach easily to the stem of a wine glass and help identify one's drink at any social event. The charms are available in two collections and retail for $10 per set:

  • The Diva Collection : Sip cocktails a la Sex and the City . Sit back and relax with good friends and some trendy drink charms: a lipstick, high heels, jeans, nail polish, purse and sunglasses.
  • The Martini Collection: For those Desperate Housewives amongst us, pick your charm and enjoy: olive stick, ice cubes, shaker, vodka bottle, lemon twist and The Drink Itself.

Suited for Change provides professional clothing and ongoing career education to low-income women who are seeking employment.

ColorWorks, a haircolor specialty salon, has six locations in Maryland and Virginia . ColorWorks provides expert hair color services from some of the industry's most talented hair color professionals. Each location's educational programs are headed by ColorWorks colorists who've been certified by the American Board of Certified Haircolorists. ColorWorks is a division of Ratner Companies, based in Vienna , VA.
