RATNER COMPANIES ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Virginia-based operator of Hair Cuttery, BUBBLES and Salon Cielo salon chains strengthens company for long-term financial success

Vienna, VA, October, 2007 – Ratner Companies, the largest privately owned chain of hair salons in the country, operating under the Hair Cuttery, BUBBLES, Salon Cielo, ColorWorks, and Salon Plaza brands, announces its new Chief Financial Officer, Ben Teicher.

Teicher joins Ratner Companies from Discovery Communications, Inc. where he served as Senior Vice President Finance and CFO of its Education Division, and most recently served as Senior Vice President and CFO for the Animal Planet, Discovery Kids Media, and Planet Green brands. Teicher brings over 20 years of high-level leadership experience in retail environments, including Nestle USA and The Walt Disney Companies.

"Ben is a valuable addition to Ratner Companies," said Dennis Ratner, Founder and CEO, Ratner Companies. "He has a distinguished career and as Ratner Companies continues to grow, we will rely on his expertise and guidance to move us into the future."

Ratner Companies current CFO, Ron Siegel, will help with the transition over the next several months, serving in an advisory role. Siegel, who has served as CFO for more than 24 years, will continue to be involved in the company in a part-time capacity, and will continue to serve as a member of Ratner Companies' Executive Committee, Real Estate Committee, and Advisory Board.
